“So You Understand Life and Don’t Break”: A Resounding Success in Fostering Hope and Psychological Resilience

Tangier, Kingdom of Morocco – In a move to enhance psychological and social awareness, the Social Complex of the Aid and Relief Association hosted an exceptional training course titled “So You Understand Life and Don’t Break” on June 19, 2025. This course, presented by Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud El-Sayed under the motto “Life was created for you… you are the one who builds it,” saw wide attendance and significant interaction from representatives of local associations and interested individuals. Its aim was to highlight the importance of resilience and psychological fortitude in facing life’s challenges.

A Distinguished Start Towards a Deeper Understanding of Life

The course began promptly at 3:20 PM, following the excellent organization of participant arrivals. Mr. Nour El-Din Bensabih opened the session with a welcoming speech, expressing his joy at hosting Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud El-Sayed and extending his deep gratitude to the attendees. A beautiful recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by brother Jalal Laamiri added a spiritual dimension to the event, followed by a welcoming speech from sister Hamida Boulifa, head of the Administrative and Financial Affairs sector and supervisor of the course.

Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud El-Sayed, at the outset of his talk, praised the participants’ eagerness to learn and encouraged mutual interaction, emphasizing that true change begins with building an idea and self-responsibility. He pointed out that the Prophet’s biography is an unparalleled source for simplifying the deep meanings of human development and self-growth.

The course focused on five main axes inspired by the biography of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), providing participants with practical strategies for understanding life and enhancing resilience:

1. “The Born Migrant”: The Power of Upbringing and Challenges Dr. El-Sayed shed light on the roots of human upbringing and the challenges faced, citing the Prophet Muhammad’s biography (peace be upon him) as an example of strength and determination. The core message here is that life does not spare the weak, but it makes great men out of adversities. This axis emphasized that overcoming difficulties refines character and enhances endurance.
2. “Grape Harvesting”: Hope After Breaking This axis addressed the toughest moments in the Prophet’s biography, such as the Year of Sorrow and the journey to Ta’if, and how moments of despair turned into divine tidings. The story of “Addas” and the bunch of grapes was a symbol of divine bounty that comes after the hardest moments of breaking. This section established the principle that connection with God is the only rope that saves from the harshness and betrayal of life, emphasizing the importance of faith and patience in times of hardship.
3. “That Known Good Deed”: Forgiveness and the Continuity of Impact The doctor emphasized the importance of forgiving the mistakes of others and not dwelling on their slips, inspired by the story of the Companion Hatib ibn Abi Balta’a. This axis called for wisdom and overlooking shortcomings to ensure the continuity of the call and humanitarian path, which enhances positive relationships and societal impact.
4. “Make Your Witnesses”: The Responsibility of Impact in Life This axis focused on the individual message and the responsibility of the impact a person leaves on others. Through the story of Zayd ibn Haritha, the doctor clarified that knowledge and sincerity can create a lasting impact, emphasizing that our behavior and our impact on others are a testimony for us in this world and the hereafter. This encourages us to think about ongoing charity and doing good deeds.
5. “The Death of a Prophet… and the Life of a Nation”: Building Life After Major Challenges The doctor highlighted that the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was not the end of the message, but the beginning of a test and a phase of “a nation without a prophet.” This section affirmed that life does not stop at individuals, but is built by stances and visions, and that human greatness appears when one shifts from talking about people to talking about ideas that change people’s reality. This teaches us that opportunities for selection appear even after the greatest challenges.

The course concluded in an atmosphere of emotion and interaction, as participants expressed their admiration for the depth of the presentation and Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud El-Sayed’s ability to integrate the Prophet’s biography into addressing contemporary psychological and existential challenges.
